Russell W. Kell
Russell W. Kell, 91, of the Mowrystown community, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2024 at Legacy of Hillsboro.
He was born Aug. 19, 1932 in Georgetown, the son of the late Harley E. and Stella Belle (Roberts) Kell. On April 4, 1953, he married Dorothy (Moore) Kell.
Russell was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War. He graduated from Whiteoak High School class of 1951 and was a member of Good News Gathering. Russell was a longtime employee of Irwin Auger Bit and a farmer.
Surviving are his loving wife of 70 years, Dorothy Kell; son and daughter-in-law, Derick and Kim Kell of Mowrystown; daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Steve Brooks of Midland; five grandchildren, Courtney Hunley, Lindsey (Ronnie) Hall, Tyler Hunley, Brittany (Grant Hickey) Gilbert and Tanner (Molly) Kell; and seven great-grandchildren, Landon Hall, Luke Hall, Gavin Hunley, Braydon Hunley, Audrey Gilbert, Isabelle Hickey and Olivia Hickey.
In addition to his parents, Russell was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph Kell and Delton Kell; and two sisters, Janet Reed and Vera Faye McQuitty.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 26, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, 138 E. Main St., Hillsboro, with Pastor Jeff Lyle officiating. Interment will follow in the Roberts Cemetery, Taylorsville.
Friends will be received Friday from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
