Ronna V. Gardner

Ronna V. Gardner, 89, formerly of Madeira, passed away Feb. 6, 2024, at Otterbein SeniorLife Lebanon. 

She was born May 17, 1934 in Haydenville to the late Charles Henderson and Phyllis May (Swaim) Vollmer.  

On May 29, 1955 in Haydenville, she married Robert Gene Gardner, who is deceased. Ronna worked as a music teacher in Texas and a learning disabilities teacher in Madeira. She was an Ohio University graduate. Ronna was a member of the Hyde Park Bethlehem United Methodist Church.  

Surviving family members are her daughter, Diane (Kevin) Boys of Wilmington; four sons, Robert (Katherine) Gardner of Mansfield, Thomas (Cynthia) Gardner of Milford, Charles (Robin) Gardner of Columbus and Steven (Lisa) Gardner of Charlotte, N.C.; 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Karen McCarthy of Ft. Myers, Fla. and Rhea (John) Mathias of Columbus; and many nieces and nephews.  

In addition to her parents, Ronna was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gene Gardner; her brother, Richard Vollmer; sister-in-law, Miko Vollmer; and two brothers-in-law, Jerry Higgins and Jimmy McCarthy.
The Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington, has been entrusted with the arrangements. A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.
