Ronald Burdette Edgington
Ronald Burdette Edgington, 79, of Wilmington, formerly of Greenfield, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2024 at the Wilmington Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by his family.
He was born Aug. 25, 1944 in Martinsville, the son of the late Burdette and Goldie (Alexander) Edgington.
Ronald was a Martinsville High School graduate, and after graduation, Ronald proudly served his country in the Army National Guard for six years. He worked at Ferno-Washington in Wilmington for over 15 years, and he was a lifetime member of the Greenfield Eagles #1325. Ronald had a passion for CB radios and working in his workshop, building TV antennas and anything that interested him. He loved his family, and he will be greatly missed.
Ronald is survived by his son, Ronald L. (Sheila) Edgington of Lynchburg; two grandchildren, Anthony (Amie) Edgington and Brian (Julie) Edgington; five great-grandchildren, Isacc Lightle, Ellie Edgington, Evelyn Edgington, Grace Edgington and Emma Edgington; two sisters, Linda Lunsford of Martinsville and Carolyn Storer of Washington Court House; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Edgington; and a brother-in-law, Don Storer.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2024 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. Funeral services will take place following visitation at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial, with military honors presented by the Highland County Honor Guard, will follow services in the Martinsville IOOF Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ronald’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, Central Ohio Chapter, 1379 Dublin Road, Columbus, Ohio 43215.
