Robert Wayne Gumbert, 83, of Sardinia, passed away on March 17, 2023 at Hospice of Cincinnati after a short battle with cancer.
He was born the son of the late Robert A. and Ada (Bush) Gumbert on Oct. 21, 1939 in Cincinnati.
Robert worked as a printer pressman for Multi-Color Corporation in Cincinnati for 32 years. He was a wonderful man with a calm spirit. He had a great sense of humor, specializing in sarcasm. Robert loved nature and instinctively enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He enjoyed woodworking and was always busy making something.
Robert is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Pierce Gumbert, whom he married on Jan. 23, 1960; his children, Bobby (Pam) Gumbert of Hillsboro and Charles “Charlie” Gumbert of Sardinia; granddaughter, Nicole (Ray) Shawhan; two great-grandchildren, Kenny and Blake Shawhan; siblings, Jim (Mary) Gumbert, Fred Gumbert and Phyllis (Jim) Taylor, all of Cincinnati; brothers-in-law, Bill Pierce and Jeffrey Rogers; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Joe Pierce.
Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Friday, March 24 at Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Services will follow at 3 p.m.
In keeping with his wishes, Robert will be cremated following the services. Memorial donations may be made in Robert’s name to Hospice of Cincinnati, P.O. Box 633597, Cincinnati, OH 45263-3597.
