Robert 'Rob' Louis Van Frank
Robert “Rob” Louis Van Frank, 77, of Cincinnati, formerly of Hillsboro, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, June 22, 2024 at the St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
Rob was born Aug. 28, 1946, in Cincinnati, the son of the late Robert A. and Margaret L. (Schaefer) Van Frank.
Rob was a graduate of Hillsboro High School and later went on to earn his bachelor of science degree in computer science. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1967 and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War.
In recent years, Rob took to traveling the open road in his camper and wintering in his favorite corner of the world, Salton Sea, Calif. He always spoke fondly of the desert and the great times with his friends every year. Rob loved traveling the country, live music, computers and technology, cold beer, good food and embarking on any adventure that came his way.
Rob is survived by his three children, Nicole Van Frank of Cincinnati, Zachary (Kelsa) Van Frank of Cincinnati and Amanda (David Hunt) Van Frank of Los Angeles, Calif.; his grandchildren, Riley Van Frank, Ruud Van Frank and Axel Jones Van Hunt; two siblings, Richard Van Frank of Oxford and Roger (Connie) Van Frank of Oxford; several nieces and nephews; and many more friends.
A celebration of Rob’s life will be held later at the convenience of the family.
