Robert L. 'Bob' Michael
Robert L. “Bob” Michael, 76, of the Berrysville community, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Sept. 26, 2024.
He was born March 5, 1948 in Highland County, the son of the late Edwin and Nellie (Igo) Michael.
Bob was a 1966 graduate of Belfast High School. Bob worked for his mother when she owned the Y Restaurant and farmed, where he raised shorthorn cattle, sheep and hogs. Bob showed livestock all over the country. He would attend all the state fairs this side of the Mississippi River every year. When Bob's sister, Barbara, bought the Berrysville General Store, Bob helped Barb in the store as well. At the time of Bob's passing, he delivered parts for Smyth Automotive in Hillsboro.
He is survived by two nephews, Chuck (Anna) Brannen of Berrysville and Wayne (Diane) Stanforth of San Antonio, Texas; niece, Mary Jo Prickett of Pleasant Hill; great nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Brannen and Mary Ellen Stanforth; and two brothers, Bill Michael and Leonard Dale “Sam” Michael.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Sugartree Ridge Cemetery.
