Robert 'Bob' Eugene Stevens
Robert “Bob” Eugene Stevens, 76, of Hillsboro, passed away Thursday, Jan. 25, 2024 at Bethesda North Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born Feb. 26, 1947 in Portsmouth, the son of the late Robert Glen and Ruby Crabtree Stevens.
Bob was a doting father to Ashlie and Pap to Owen and Sawyer, which by far was his favorite title. He loved The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Reds. In later years, Bob enjoyed singing, playing chess and participating in the activities at The Laurels, where he was a resident the last several years.
He is survived by his daughter, Ashlie (Corey) Foster of West Virginia; two grandsons, Owen Gregory and Sawyer James Foster; sisters, Judy (Jim) Perry of Hillsboro, Libby Brown of Hillsboro and Martha (Charles) Gorman of Peebles; six nieces and nephews; and close friend and roommate, Virgil Tharp.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2024 from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. at Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Burial will follow at Auburn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St Jude’s Children’s Research, 501 Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105.
The family would like to thank the staff at The Laurels of Hillsboro for the care and attention that they gave Bob during his stay there and also to the Bethesda North MICU unit for their care during his brief stay.
