Ricky A. Short
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ricky A. "Baby Hughie" Short, 63, of Peebles.
Born on June 22, 1961 in West Union, Ricky's life was a testament to the strength of family, friendship, and community. Ricky is preceded by his parents, Raymond and Wanda (Shoemaker) Short and brothers, Mike and Marvin Short.
Ricky graduated from Peebles High School and went on to establish a dedicated career in the factory industry, working at Airborne Express and Sugarcreek Packing. Over the years, he became known not only for his strong work ethic but also for his warm-hearted nature, which allowed him to forge lasting friendships with many, including those he met during his time at the nursing home, where he found joy and companionship. He also was a member of the Pathway to Christ Church.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Jennifer (Dillon) Short; his cherished son, Tyler Short; grandchildren, Colton, Avery and Georgia; two sisters, Patricia (Clinton) Fields and Jean (Joe) Thompson; brother, Randy (Dottie) Short; and mother-in-law, Beth (Roberto) Paredes. Each of them will carry on his memory, honoring the love and laughter he brought into their lives.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, May 19 at the Sinking Spring Community Church. Burial will follow at the Dunkard Ridge Cemetery.
