Richard Wesley Tarr, 71, of Hillsboro, died Monday, October 19, 2009 at the Highland District Hospital.
He was born East Liverpool on December 11, 1937, the son of the late Charles W. and Ethilender (Loy) Tarr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Mark Tarr and Guy Tarr.
He formed a partnership in 1974 with his brother-in-law and purchased D&T Body Shop Inc. in Dayton, Ohio. He was a US Marine veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, N. Charleene (Wilkin) Tarr of Hillsboro; two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard Ryan and Misty Tarr of Hillsboro and Michael Alan and Sheila Tarr of Miamisburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly Marie and Dennis Jacob of Hillsboro; one brother, Roy William Tarr of Dayton; ten grandchildren, Sarah Marie Jacobs, Phillip Robert Jacobs, Marchella Nicole Tarr, Richard Ryan Tarr, Zachary Dale Neal, Katelyn Ryann Tarr, Jeremiah Ryan Tarr, Danelle (Andy) Hall, Chris Wilson, and Jackie Wilson; and five great-grandchildren, Kira Hall, Keegan Hall, Thea Hall, Kandyce and Kylie.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home with Mike Ballentine officiating. Burial will follow in the 
Prospect Cemetery with military graveside services by the Highland County Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Friday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home and on Saturday morning one hour prior to service.
Memorials may be made to the Waw-Wil-A-Way, Children of the American Revolution.
