Randy R. Zugg

Randy R. Zugg, 68, passed away March 1, 2025. 

He was born Aug. 10, 1956, in Portsmouth. 

Randy was a beloved member of the Wilmington community, where he lived his life to the fullest as a passionate musician and devoted entrepreneur. Randy's zest for life was evident in everything he did. He was the proud owner of his own business and took immense joy in providing for his family and friends. Music was an integral part of Randy's life, and he cherished the moments spent playing the drums in his family band, Zugg Brother's & Co. With each beat, he brought joy not only to himself but also to those around him, creating lasting memories filled with rhythm and love. He has left behind a legacy of warmth, creativity and unforgettable tunes that will resonate through the lives he touched.

Randy is survived by his devoted sisters, Carolyn (Lawrence) Holden and Patty Hickman; brother, John (Vanessa) Zugg; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends, who will carry his spirit and love in their hearts. 

Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Ora and June (Leininger) Zugg; brothers, Larry, Jim and Ronald Zugg; and nephew, Ronald Zugg Jr.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, March 7 at the Thompson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Prospect Cemetery. Friends may call from noon until time of services on Friday at the funeral home.

As we say goodbye to Randy, let us remember him not with tears, but with the melodies of his life that continue to play on in our hearts. His infectious spirit and passion for music will forever echo in our memories.
