Rachel E. Chamblin, 78 of Hillsboro, passed away Monday, June 9, 2025 at Bethesda North Hospital.  

She was born April 28, 1947 in Dayton, the daughter of the late Mark and Helen (Huff) Moore.  

Rachel was well known for her 48 years of service with Frisch’s restaurant in Hillsboro, having retired in 2023. Along with her husband, she was responsible for paging and announcing information at the Highland County Fair for nearly 40 years and was a member of the Highland County Antique Tractor Club.  

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.   

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Rae Jean and Doug Morgan of Cheyenne, Wyo. and Rhonda Jo and Tom Hoadley of Burns, Wyo.; six grandchildren, Brandon (Lisa) Morgan, Cory (Heather) Morgan, Seth (Amber) Morgan, Tyler Hoadley, Ryley (Jesi) Hoadley and Justyn Hoadley; nine great-grandchildren, Shaylynn, Hunter, Remington, Logun, Maverick, Fallon and Taycee Morgan, Hunter T., and Ridge Hoadley; a sister, Marcia Davis of Aberdeen; and a brother, Franklin (Lana) Moore of Salida, Calif.  Also surviving are special daughters, Lisa Brown Corbin and Cheryl Collins; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Rodney E. Chamblin; three siblings, Edward Moore, Bernadette Smith, and Joseph Moore; and a special granddaughter, Mackenzie Corbin. 

The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. Thursday, June 19 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro, when a memorial service and celebration of Rachel’s life will begin.
