Phyllis G. Huff

Phyllis G. Huff, 87, of Hillsboro, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2023.

Phyllis was born Feb. 15, 1936, in Hindman, Ky., the daughter of the late Elbert and Clella (Hays) Barker. 

Phyllis attended the Good News Gathering in Hillsboro. She retired in 1992 from the Fairborn City Schools, where she worked in food service for 30 years.

Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Carla (George) Huff-Kelley of Stevinson, Calif.; daughter-in-law, Pam Huff of Hillsboro; five grandchildren, Jennifer (Brian) Smyers of Lebanon, Jessica (Andrew) Saltzman of Lebanon, Casey (John) Kelley-DiMichele of Del Mar, Calif., Zachary Huff of Dayton and Griffin (Mara) Kelley of Denver, Colo.; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Martha Ann (Skip) Rendall of St. Augustine, Fla.; an uncle, Harmon (Dot) Hays; nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of friends.

Besides her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Huff, Jr. on July 30, 2006; and two sons, Gary L. Huff on April 4, 2021 and Michael R. Huff on April 9, 2023.

A combined service will be held noon Thursday, April 20 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro, with her son, Michael.

Visitation will be 10 a.m.-noon April 20 at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery.

Family request memorials to the Highland County Humane Society or Hospice of Dayton.
