Peter L. Bangert, 76, of Greenfield, Ohio, died Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at Greenfield Area Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 14,1932 in Columbus, Ohio, the son of the late Leo A. and Katherine (Wentzel) Bangert.
He was retired from the Luster Ware Company of Columbus and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the St. Benignus Catholic Church of Greenfield.
He is survived by his adopted son, Ray Egnor of Greenfield; his brother, John E. (Wanda) Bangert of Statesville, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews, including Barbara (Dale) Hidy of Greenfield.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Helen A. Neymeyer, who died in October 1991; two sons, Gregory L. and Mark A. Bangert; three brothers; one sister; and two infant sisters.
A memorial service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, October 5, 2009 at St. Benignus Catholic Church in Greenfield with Father Mike Paraniuk officiating. Anderson-Strueve Funeral Home of Greenfield is serving the family.
