Peter Joseph Kelly Sr. age 78 of Hillsboro died Thursday, October 1, 2009 at his residence. He was born September 22, 1931 in Astoria, Long Island, New York. He had worked as the general manager of Forman Industries in Dayton, Ohio for over thirty years and had also worked for eight years as plant engineer for Mac Tool. He was a life member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 361 and was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He is survived by one son, Peter Joseph Kelly Jr. of Hillsboro, one daughter, Kitty (Pat) Maher of Hillsboro, two grandchildren, Katie Kelly and Peter Joseph Kelly III of Hillsboro and three brothers-in-law, Robert (Frances) McComas of Dayton, James R. (Linda) McComas of California and Noel (Kay) McComas of Hillsboro. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma McComas Kelly. Mr. Kelly had requested that a traditional Irish Wake be observed. Visitation for family and friends will be observed anytime after 12:00 p.m. Monday, October 5th until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7th at his residence located at 8926 U.S. 50 in Hillsboro. Father Mike Paraniuk will officiate. Burial will follow with military honors presented by the Highland County Honor Guard in the Hillsboro Cemetery.
