Paula Jane Simmons

Paula Jane Simmons, 60, of Hillsboro, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024 at her home. 

She was born May 15, 1964 in Greenfield, the daughter of the late Richard D. and Dora (Clay) Willis. 

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Dirk Simmons, whom she married July 18, 1982 at the Leesburg Friends Church. She is also survived by two children, Tabitha Simmons of Highland and Chase (Kelli) Simmons of New Vienna; eight grandchildren, Skylar Brokaw, Brock Brokaw, Drake Brokaw, Kendra Brokaw, Aubri Simmons, David Simmons, Cooper Simmons and Markai Simmons; and an uncle, Frank (Jean Ann) Knedler. 

In addition to her parents, Paula was preceded in death by her daughter, Heather Nicole Simmons. 

A visitation will be held Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Leesburg Friends Church, when a funeral service will begin. Pastor John Fitzgerald will officiate. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. 

The Turner Funeral Home in Leesburg is serving the family.
