Nancy Laurine Skidmore

Nancy Laurine Skidmore, 88, of Hillsboro, passed away Friday, Jan. 12, 2024 at Legacy of Hillsboro. 

Nancy was born Oct. 7, 1935 in Belmont County, the daughter of the late Willis G. and Mary (Wood) Wharton.  

She was a member and served as a secretary of Apostolic Deliverance Tabernacle in Peebles. Nancy liked doing puzzles, reading, doing crosswords and collecting trinkets and figurines. She loved to send cards for every occasion. Nancy never missed a birthday, celebration or get well card. 

Nancy is survived by her children, Daryl Skidmore of Peebles, Randy (fiancé Renee Winkleman) Skidmore of Hillsboro, Angela Williamson of Peebles and Karen (Steve) Walker of Washington Court House; grandchildren, Kyle, Eric, Steven and Shoshawna; four great-grandchildren, including Aiden; sister-in-law, Elsie Everetts of Rainsboro; and 15 nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Skidmore, on Nov. 16, 1996; and her siblings, Rebecca Wharton, William H. Wharton, Margaret Foster and Michael Wharton. 

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2024 from 4-6 p.m. at Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro and Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2024 from noon until 1 p.m. at Apostolic Deliverance Tabernacle, 230 Black Hollow Rd. in Peebles. Funeral services will take place following visitation Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Smith Hill Cemetery in Piketon.
