Michael Davis Goad
Michael Davis Goad, 35, of Lynchburg, passed away from an accident March 12, 2024 at the Scripps Memorial Hospital in San Diego, Calif.
He was born Feb. 6, 1989, the son of Denton Goad and Kristine (Liming) Goad.
Michael loved his job as a professional roller coaster painter, and he had no fear of anything. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and taking his recently purchased pontoon boat out for a ride across the lake, with his wife and children. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Michael is survived by his wife, Angel (Wagner) Goad, whom he married Sept. 4, 2013; two daughters, Chloe and Jamie Goad; his mother, Kristine Goad of Lynchburg; his father, Denton (Kim) Goad of Adams County; a very special bonus father, Jerry Thiel Sr.; five siblings, Christopher (Kristie) Goad, Amanda (DeWayne) Brown, Jerry “Jay” (Alaina) Thiel Jr., Travis (Heavenley) Thiel and Brooke Thiel, all of Lynchburg; two stepsisters, Kim Thiel and Julie (Brad) Roush; a very special nephew, Kaiden “Turtle Man” Bowen; and many more nieces, nephews and friends.
Michael was preceded in death by three cousins, Jeremiah Hill, Josh Beard and Jonathan Lampkin; and his best friend, Jamie Kessinger.
A gathering of friends and family will take place Monday, April 15 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg with burial to follow at Troutwine Cemetery. The Davis-Turner Funeral Home is serving the family.
