Michael Allen DeHaas

Michael Allen DeHaas, 65, of Lynchburg, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2024 at his home. 

He was born April 12, 1959 in Biloxi, Miss. Mike served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked until his retirement as a truck driver for Yellow Freight. He enjoyed trail riding and working in the garage. 

Mike is survived by his mother, Patricia DeHaas; stepdaughter, Susan “Katie” (John) Norris of Martinsville; grandson, Danny Norris; brothers, Brian and Gregg DeHaas both of Buford; caregiver, Jody Hertenstein; and many nieces, nephews and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his father, James DeHaas; a son, Gregg DeHaas; companion, Linda Hertenstein; and twin sisters, Patricia and Tamula. 

In keeping with his wishes, Mike will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at his daughter, Katie’s house on Saturday, June 22 from 5-8 p.m.
