Melissa K. 'Missy' McClain

Melissa K. "Missy" McClain, 33, of Hillsboro, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, March 9, 2024.

She was born June 25, 1990 in Dayton, the daughter of William Scot Harris of Xenia and the late Stephanie L. (Harphant) Harris, who preceded her in death on March 30, 2021.

Missy was a 2008 graduate of the Penn Foster Home School and the Regency Beauty Institute. Missy was so proud to be a mom. Her kids gave her the most joy, and she loved being their mom more than anything.

Besides her father, Scot, Missy is survived by her children, Conner Kelch and dad, Eric, Gabriel, Zayne and Zoey Nehus and dad, Jason, and James Terry "JT" McClain and dad, Billy; grandparents, James D. and Shirley (Shoemaker) Harphant of Xenia; brother, William Zachary "Zach" (Brooke Conley) Harris of Greenfield; sisters, Brittney (Josh Fulcomer) Willoughby of Xenia and Sherria (Dusty Reno) Harris of Hillsboro; uncles and aunts, William Lee and Jennifer Harphant of Xenia, Shawn and Jennifer Harris of Spring Valley and Scott and Shannon Dick of Canton; numerous, nephews, nieces and cousins; and a host of friends.

Her family says, “In the midst of our grief, let us remember Missy for the passion and love she brought into the lives of those she held dear. May her spirit live on through the memories and the love she shared with us all.”

Friends and family are invited to a visitation Friday, March 15, 2024 from 1-3 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Funeral services will begin at 3 p.m.

Burial will be Saturday, March 30, 2024 at the Clifton Union Cemetery at Clifton, Ohio, at the convenience of the family.
