Melissa Ann Cate
Melissa Ann Cate, 43, of Hillsboro, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Sept. 22, 2024.
She was born Feb. 10, 1981 in Nelson County, Ky., the daughter of Allen Davis and Debra Ann (Baker) Davis.
Melissa graduated in 2000 from North Adams High School. She enjoyed volunteering at Sacred Hearts Animal Sanctuary & Helping Hands, and she was also on the 4-H administration as well as an archery instructor. She loved the outdoors, riding four-wheelers, shooting guns and raising all types of farm animals. She loved her family, and she will be greatly missed.
Melissa is survived by her three children, Timothy (Destiny) McCormick of Seaman, Stephanie Cate of Seaman and Aaron Cate of Sharonville; two grandchildren, Novalee McCormick and Elizabeth Danner; two siblings, Douglas (Crystal) Davis of Wilmington and Jennifer (Chris) Chappa of Wilmington; nieces and nephews, Elizabeth Davis, Matthew Davis, William Chappa and Samantha Chappa; cousin, Sharon Edmisten, and her children, Jody Edmisten and Jadelyn Edmisten; and cousin, Sarah Gillespie, and her children, James Dwayne Gillespie III and Jolan Gillespie.
Melissa was preceded in death by an aunt, Sharon Gillespie; and a cousin, James “Jamie” Gillespie.
Celebration of Melissa’s life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. The Turner & Son Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family.
