Mary Oppy Buchholz, 89, of Palm Bay, Florida, formerly of Hillsboro, died Sunday, October 4, 2009 at the William Childs Hospice House in Palm Bay, Florida.
She was born in Highland County, Ohio on July 12, 1920 the daughter of the late Sherman and Ethel (Stultz) Holt.
She had retired from Robertshaw Controls in Hillsboro.
She is survived by two daughters, Violet Niblick of Palm Bay, Fla. and Betty (Jim) Jacobs of Centerville; five sons, Jasper (Doris) Oppy of Hillsboro, Bill (Mary) Oppy of Wilmington, Wayne (Lavina) Oppy of Hillsboro, Kenny (Irene) Oppy of West Milton, and Arthur Carroll (Karen) Oppy of Rittman; one stepson, William (Phyllis) Buchholz, Jr of Palm Bay, Fla.; thirty-two grandchildren; forty-one great-grandchildren; and thirteen great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur H. Oppy, on December 18, 1963; one son, Earl Andrew Oppy; one daughter, Mildred Oppy; three grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters; and four brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Samantha Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Wiley Perkins officiating. 
Burial will follow in the Hightop Cemetery.
Friends may call on Friday evening from 5-8 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
