Mary L. Priest

Mary L. Priest, a beloved member of the Leesburg community, passed away July 3, 2024.

Born Dec. 31, 1925, she lived a life filled with love, laughter and cherished moments shared with her family and friends.

Throughout her life, Mary touched the hearts of many with her unwavering love for her family, a sentiment that extended to her children and grandchildren. She found joy in being a member of AMVETS #61, where she formed lasting friendships and contributed to her community in meaningful ways.

Mary was known for her green thumb, often seen tending to her garden with great care and nurturing her beloved flowers to bloom beautifully. In addition to her gardening skills, she had a passion for sewing and could often be found creating intricate pieces with meticulous detail.

Mary's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Pam (John) Mottie of Hillsboro; son, Thomas (Ruth) Priest of South Carolina; four grandchildren, Mike, Lisa, Amy and Ryan; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Sarah (Anders) Newlan; grandson, Dustin Mottie; granddaughter, Leslie Hafer; two brothers; a baby sister; and three brothers-in-law.

Funeral services to honor Mary's life will be Saturday, July 13, 2024 at noon at the Thompson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the White Oak Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of services at Thompson Funeral Home.
