Mary L. Brown, 76, of Hillsboro, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2024 at the Miami Valley Hospital. 

She was born July 17, 1948 in Greenfield, the daughter of the late Robert and Ruth (Hood) Morris. 

Mary was a retired STNA after 35 years of service. She never met a stranger and loved her animals, especially her three cats, Teddy Bear, Sugar and Spice. She was a member of the Highland Community Church and was a faithful servant to our Lord. She will be greatly missed. 

Mary is survived by her husband of 22 years, Allen P. Brown, whom she married Aug. 28, 2002 in Pigeon Forge, Tenn.; sons, Andrew (Deanne) Mackan of Highland, Donald Stroop of Mowrystown, Jerry (Clara) Stroop of Hillsboro, Larry (Dianne) Stroop and Terry (Tammy) Stroop; stepchildren, Chris Brown, Kipp (Jackie) Brown and Danielle Thompson; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Danny (Beth) Morris and Ricky Morris of Greenfield; many nieces and nephews; her church family; and a host of friends, including special friends, Rebecca Cyrus and Judy Delph. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert Riley; and a sister, Janet Jones. 

A visitation will be held Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2024 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro, when a funeral service will begin. Pastor Mark Armstrong will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery.
