Mary Carolyn Branham

Mary Carolyn Branham (née Mount), 90, of Mason, passed away peacefully March 5, 2024. 

She was born Nov. 28, 1933 in Buford, the daughter of the late Fred Mount and Gertrude Bishop. 

She graduated from Lynchburg High School in 1952, and on Sept. 16, 1956, she married James W. Branham. They had one son, Barry Branham. 

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Barry and Cheri Branham of Mason; grandchildren, Cole (Lily) Branham of Kings Mills and Courtney Branham (Brock Dean) of Raleigh, N.C.; one great-grandchild, Henry Branham; her brother, Jesse Mount of Lynchburg; two sisters-in-law, Ann Branham of Satsuma, Fla. and Wilma Jacobs of Batavia; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.  

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister; her husband, James W. Branham; a brother, Victor Mount; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Mount and Ruth Shafer-Karnes; a niece, Vicki Mount; four brothers-in-law, David Branham, Daniel Branham, Paul Branham and John Branham; and a great-granddaughter, Felicity Branham. 

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 12, 2024 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., when a funeral service will begin, at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. Daryl Mount will officiate. Private burial at the Lynchburg Masonic Cemetery will follow.
