Mary Ann Shaper, 60, of Madison, Ala., passed away March 14, 2023 at Huntsville Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Mary was born June 20, 1962 in Dayton to Herbert Edward Shaper Jr. and Ann Maurine Shaper (Williams). She was the youngest of four siblings.
Mary enjoyed good food, dining out and holiday meals with friends and family. She loved the beach and hanging out with her sister, along with other family members. She also enjoyed raising and showing Shetland sheepdogs along with her mother.
Mary was the proud mother of Mario Joseph. They were very active in Boy Scouts together, along with his activities in high school and college music.
She is survived by her son, Mario Joseph Rivieccio; older brothers, James Edward Shaper and Thomas William Shaper; her older sister, Susan Lee Wolcott (Shaper); and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be Friday, March 17 at 6 p.m., followed by a funeral service, beginning at 7 p.m. Both will be hosted by St. Matthews Episcopal Church, 786 Hughes Rd., Madison, Ala.
Burial and graveside service will take place Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Sugar Grove Cemetery, 297 West Truesdell Street, Wilmington, with Fr. Bernard Weldishofer officiating. All are welcome to come.
