Marie McCoy, 94, of Peebles, died Friday, Sept. 11, 2009 at the Adams County Regional Medical Center. She was born in Peebles, on Aug. 1, 1915, the daughter of the late Walter and Pearl (Seaman) Peterson. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George H. McCoy, who died Sept. 30, 1961; and one brother; Ralph Peterson. She was a longtime member of the Peebles Church of Christ, the Peebles Magazine Club, and Order of Eastern Star Chapter #581. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, George and Stephanie McCoy of Peebles; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Mike Foster of Circleville; two sisters, Mary Campbell of Dayton and Ann Macky of Troy; four grandchildren, eight great- grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Services were Sept. 16 at the Peebles Church of Christ with Jim Chandler officiating. Burial followed in Locust Grove Cemetery. Visitation was Tuesday at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles.
