Marie Ann Brooks, 87, of Lynchburg, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at her home. 

Marie was born Oct. 4, 1936 in Beavercreek Township, the daughter of the late William and Nettie (Miller) Wagner.

She was a member of the Pearl Street Church of Christ and Springboro Church of Christ. Marie was an avid reader, sometimes finishing four books per week. She enjoyed helping on the farm, bailing hay and tending to the chickens. Marie and her husband, John Brooks Jr., were married on April 10, 1954, and were happily married for the 70 years since that day. 

In addition to her husband, Marie is survived by their children, Vicki (Doug) Oakes of Somerset, Ohio, John William (Nancy) Brooks of Florida and Louann (Tom) Arnold of Flushing, Ohio; 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruthie (Tony) Arsenault of Jamestown. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, David Wagner, Bonnie Robertson and Billy Wagner. 

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 25 from 10 a.m. until time of service at noon at Pearl Street Church of Christ, 330 Pearl St., Lynchburg. Burial will take place on Wednesday, June 26 at 11 a.m. in the Mt Zion Park Cemetery in Beavercreek. 

Memorials may be made to International Health Care Foundation, African Christian Hospitals, 102 N Locust St, Searcy, AR 72143-9920.
