Maranda Pauline Sewell
Maranda Pauline Sewell, 97, of Dayton, passed away Sunday, Feb. 11, 2024.
She was born Nov. 30, 1926 in Hollonville, Ky., the daughter of General and Stella (Hatton) Hollon.
Maranda was a great mother and grandmother. She loved flowers, raising a garden and talking on the phone, but most of all she loved her four boys. One of her biggest joys was spending time with her family and friends. She loved to host dinners and cookouts for all of her children and grandchildren.
Maranda is survived by four children, Denzil (Debbie) Tyra, David (Angela) Sewell, Larry (Sheryl) Sewell and Michael A. (Jaqueline) Sewell; eight grandchildren, Maria, Matthew, Alicia, Ashley, Julie, Jennifer, Jason and Brandon; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Osa Tyra; second husband, Taylor Price Sewell; third husband, John Dixon; two brothers, Bennie and George Hollon; and sister, Charity Tomlin.
A visitation will be held Monday, Feb. 19, 2024 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., with funeral to begin at 1 p.m., all at Rogers Funeral Home, 324 W. Main St., New Lebanon 45345. Pastor Tim Hamilton will be officiating. Interment will follow at Bear Creek Cemetery.
