Linda L. Stone Kemp

Linda L. Stone Kemp, 64, of Hillsboro, passed away peacefully Thursday, Oct. 3, 2024, at the James Cancer Hospital in Columbus, surrounded by her family. 

She was born Oct. 12, 1959, in Wilmington, the daughter of the late Elwood and Lorrene (Rhoden) Stone. 

Linda became a member of the Samantha Bible Baptist Church on Oct. 7, 1984, and she had attended the church for more than 10 years before becoming a member. For the past 11 years, she worked at Hobart in Hillsboro, making many friends along the way. She enjoyed making jewelry, traveling, writing, reading her Bible, but most of all she loved her family. She will be deeply missed, and she would want everyone to remember that “Jesus loves you.” 

Linda is survived by her husband, Dick Kemp, whom she married on Nov. 14, 2016; six children, Jeff (Cynthia) Conley Jr., Justin Conley, Heather (Curtis) Green, Brian Conley, Isaac (Katie) Eaton and Rachel Frey; two stepchildren, Richard (Jenny) Kemp and Rachael Kemp; 15 grandchildren, Curtis, Quinton, Emerald, Braxton, Baby MJ, Kaylee, Maddison, Kaden, Malachi, Mason, Lily, Noah, Mercedes, Rowan, Madeleine and one on the way; two great-grandchildren, Brieland, Avery and baby girl on the way; two sisters, Nancy (Charles) Hughes, and Julie (Chad) Watson; six brothers, Walt (Peggy) Stone, Earl Stone, Thomas (Kathi) Stone, Billy Stone, Clarence (Rene) Stone and Carl Stone; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two siblings, Johnny Ray Stone and Rosanna Ellen Gibson; and a sister-in-law, Charlotte Stone. 

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8 at the Samantha Bible Baptist Church, 10211 S.R. 72, Leesburg. Funeral services will take place at noon Wednesday, Oct. 9 at the church. Burial will follow services in the Milledgeville-Plymouth Cemetery.
