Linda Kay (Knisley) Hertenstein
Linda Kay (Knisley) Hertenstein, 60, of Lynchburg, passed away peacefully, Sunday, June 2, 2024 at her home with her family by her side.
She was born Feb. 18, 1964, in Pike County, the daughter of the late Carrol Knisley Sr. and Mabel Sara (Bumgardner) Knisley.
Linda was a graduate of Lynchburg-Clay High School, and she worked at TimberTech for 25 years. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed.
Linda is survived by her two daughters, Jody Hertenstein of Lynchburg and Kayla (Jesse Walters) Hertenstein of Washington Court House; two grandchildren, Bralynn Stephenson and Champ Walters; her companion, Mike DeHaas; 10 sisters, Dorothy Ison of Lynchburg, Pauline Gilliland of Lynchburg, Elsie Elliott of Latham, Rachel Knisley of Russell Station, Sherry (Mike) McClain of Hillsboro, Sheila Thiel of Lynchburg, Sondra (Frank) Terwilliger of Mowrystown, Brenda Knisley of Wilmington, Janice Thiel of Dodsonville, and Patsy Knisley of Hillsboro; three brothers, Michael Dean (Sandy) Knisley of Lynchburg, Ernie (Vicki) Knisley of Sardinia, Albert Knisley of Lynchburg, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rick Hertenstein; four brothers, Raymond, David, Calhoun and John Carl; her father and mother-in-law, Jack and Florence Hertenstein.
A celebration of Linda’s life will be held from 2-6 p.m. Saturday, June 15 at her residence, 6630 Abernathy Road, Lynchburg.
