Lavonda Gail 'Dolly' Newkirk

Lavonda Gail “Dolly” Newkirk, 77, of Greenfield, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at Adena Greenfield Medical Center.
 
She was born July 9, 1947 in Greenfield, the daughter of Vaughn and Ruby (Wylie) Newkirk.
 
Dolly was a 1966 graduate of Fairfield High School and member of the Greenfield Church of Christ in Christian Union. She gave her heart to the Lord April 1, 1981. She loved all of her family and was loved by all. She was very thoughtful, generous and opened her home to many people over the years. She also enjoyed attending sporting events of the McClain Tigers.
 
She was recently a driver for the Amish community and prior to that was employed at Bundy Tubing of W.C.H., Family Dollar of Greenfield, Seal-Tite of Hillsboro and Collins Meat Packing of Greenfield.
 
She is survived by her son, Mark (Stacey) Newkirk of Greenfield; six grandchildren, Devon Newkirk, Ryder Newkirk, Trinity Newkirk, David Jett, Drayden Jett and Kaitlyn Jett; two great-grandchildren, Westen and Gracelynn Jett; two sisters, Juanita Tucker of Hillsboro and Jeanette (Ed) Bonzo of Washington C.H.; two brothers, Paul (Vicki) Newkirk of Washington C.H. and Roger Newkirk of Hillsboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.
 
She was preceded by one niece, Rita Campbell; one sister-in-law, Maurina Newkirk; one brother-in-law, Everett “Junior” Tucker; and both parents.
 
Funeral service will be Friday, July 26 at 1 p.m. at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Rev. Wayne Combs officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery.
 
Visitation will be Friday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the funeral home.
 
Memorial contributions may be made to the Greenfield Church of Christ in Christian Union, 503 McClain Street, Greenfield 45123.
