Kenneth Karl Free
Kenneth Karl Free, 92, of Greenfield, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2024 at Adena Greenfield Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 31, 1931 in South Salem, the son of Paul T. and Mildred (Kline) Free.
Karl was a 1949 graduate of Buckskin High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was a lifelong Democrat. He enjoyed flying, riding motorcycles and drinking coffee at McDonald’s with his friends, and he was an avid golfer.
He was involved in farming and excavating and was owner/operator of TTC, Inc., a refuse collection and landfill operation.
He is survived by the love of his life, Wahneta Rae Lytle; three daughters, Melanie (Philip) Dawes of Greenfield, Joan Free of Palma De Mallorca, Spain and Tracy Free Becht of Columbus; three grandchildren, Anne Mira Free, Taylor John Becht and Henry Free Becht; one brother, James (Pat) Free of South Salem; one sister, Irene Lucas of Greenfield; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one infant son, Karl David Free; one brother, Robert Free; and both parents.
There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
