Karen Louise Curry

Karen Louise Curry, 76, of Greenfield, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2024 at Select Specialty Hospital in Columbus.
 
She was a New Year's baby, born Jan. 1, 1948 in Greenfield, the daughter of Albert and Ellen (Everhart) Knisley.
 
Karen graduated from Edward Lee McClain High School (even though she already had a Buckskin HS ring) in 1966. She worked many different factory jobs in her lifetime.
 
She retired from Greenfield Research in 2010 after 31 years of employment.  
 
In her younger days, you may have found her throwing strikes at the bowling alley or walking the woods looking for mushrooms.  She enjoyed crocheting, often making blankets and other items to give to her family. Her fudge was hands down the best around. She was a simple woman, who made do with what she had.
 
She is survived by her three children, Karla Nicol of Naples, Fla., Kiley Baer of Greenfield and Kendra (Bill) Barnes of Frankfort; six grandchildren, Alicia (Nick) Evans, Paige Nicol and Jacob Nicol all of Naples, Fla., Kayla Baer of Xenia, Bria Baer of Greenfield and Lily Barnes of Frankfort; five great-grandchildren, Leyah, Serenity, Kaylee, Laynee and Ella; one sister, Becky (Randy) Newsome of Greenfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
 
She was preceded in death by both parents.
 
Cremation will take place, and there will not be a service observed.
 
Memorial contributions may be made to assist the family with expenses at Murray-Fettro Funeral Home, 380 Jefferson Street, Greenfield, Ohio 45123.
