Julia Ann 'Judy' Knisley

Julia Ann “Judy” Knisley, 76, formerly of Bainbridge, passed away Friday, March 24, 2023 at Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe.

She was born Jan. 15, 1947 in Springfield, the daughter of the late Lloyd and Hazel (McCoy) Morris.

On July 22, 1997, she married Charles L. Knisley, who passed away Jan. 6, 2021.

Judy attended McKibben Chapel and Waverly First Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She had a passion for creating beautiful meals and memories and seized every opportunity to make others feel loved and special. She opened her home continually to bless others with her hospitality and made strangers friends in mere moments.

She loved her Lord with all of her heart and enjoyed fellowship with her church family, always inviting others to taste and see His goodness. She loved singing and praising her King with fellow saints. Judy loved bowling and playing cards. Don’t let her beautiful smile fool you; she was quite competitive. She found laughter to truly be medicine for the soul and sought to bring cheer everywhere she went. Over the course of her final months, she developed a deep concern for her loved ones to come to faith in Jesus Christ. She prayed daily for those she loved. She was an amazing person and will be greatly missed.

Judy is survived by her daughters, Wilma Lea (Don) Cummings and Misty Dawn (Mark) Guerrero; daughter-in-law, Brenda Stephenson; grandchildren, Chris (Spring) White, Ashley (Andy) Wharf, Mary (Danny) Dalton, Jay Lane, Amy Stephenson, Julia Stephenson, Samantha White, Dustin Cummings, Miranda White, Owen Guerrero and Leon Cummings; great-grandchildren, Landen, Aubrey, Kimber, Hazel, Noah, Jewel, Lilli, Carter, River, Taliyah, Matthias, Josiah, Abram and many others; her siblings, Bob (Dorothy) Morris, Rick (Carrie) Morris, Roger (Dee) Morris, Debbie White, Tom (Maggie) Morris, James (Pam) Morris and Catherine (Michael) Kaster; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Judy was preceded in death by her son, David Dewayne Stephenson, sister, Stella Morris; brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Teresa Morris; and brother-in-law, Craig White.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at 1 p.m. at the Smith-Moore-Ebright Funeral Home, Bainbridge with Pastor Mike Whitley officiating and Jay and Pam Fabin singing. Following the service Judy will by laid to rest beside Jr. in the Twin Township Cemetery. Friends may visit with Judy's family from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
