John Gregory 'Greg' Moon
John Gregory “Greg” Moon, 70, of Hillsboro, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2024 at Hospice of Hope Inpatient Care Center in Seaman after a long and valiant battle with cancer.
He was born Dec. 8, 1953 in Dayton, the son of Anna Tibbs Moon of Indian Trail, N.C. and the late John Donald Moon.
Greg had worked for many years as an Ironworker with Local 290 in Cincinnati. Most of his working years were with the J & B Steel Company. Greg was a “Family Man” and loved spending time at home and enjoying his wife, children, grandchildren, friends and his furry buddy “Jersey Girl Moon.”
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 44 years, Lori Eubanks Moon; six children, Chad (Chandra) Moon of Cincinnati, Dax (Tabitha) Moon of Leesburg, Tai Moon of Hillsboro, Kara (C.P.) Moon-Stone of Hillsboro, Kala (Joshua) Moon-Storms of Hillsboro, Tara (Shaun) Power of Dayton; 12 grandchildren, McKinzie, Maddox, Dow and Remi Moon, Jaeden Thatcher, Cain Stone, Kaden Moon-Stone, Keian Moon-Stone, Trinity, Cameron, Kennadi Storms and Emilia Power; one brother, Jeff (Terri) Moon of Indiana; one sister, Cindy Hardie of Indian Trail, N.C.; one brother-in-law, Denny Eubanks of Greenfield; and special friends, Doug and Cindy McMonigle of Augusta, Ga., Gizzi Orebaugh of Hillsboro, Diane and Jim Hummer of Dayton, Roy Brown of Hillsboro and Terry Estes of Cincinnati; and several nieces and nephews.
Services for Greg will be held Monday, July 1, 2024 at 1 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 11 a.m. until time of services at the Turner & Son Funeral Home.
