John G. Payne

John G. Payne, 74, of Hillsboro, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2023, surrounded by his family.

He was born Sept. 14, 1948 in Bradenton, Fla., the son of the late John Edwin and Eula Mae (Glenn) Payne. 

On Nov. 24, 1973, in Cincinnati, he married Kita Susanne (Brown) Payne, who survives.

John had an enjoyable career owning and operating his own landscaping company for many years. He was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church in Marietta, Ga., where he loved serving the Lord.

In addition to his wife, other surviving family members are his siblings-in-law, Sandy Brown, Steve (Melissa) Brown and Patty (Butch) Ramsey; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews, aunts and cousins, all of whom he loved dearly.

Celebration of life services will be held June 11 at 3 p.m. at the Northview Baptist Church, 1193 Northview Drive, Hillsboro, with Pastor Chuck Rowan of Cumming, Ga. officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the service. Private graveside services will be held in the Hillsboro Cemetery, Hillsboro, Ohio, at the convenience of the family.

The Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, Hillsboro, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
