John Fred Holbrook
John Fred Holbrook, 77, of Clarksville, passed away after a lengthy illness Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2024 at home, surrounded by loved ones.
He was born Oct. 23, 1946 in Jackson, Ky., the son of the late Fred and Mattie Holbrook.
John was a member of Buckeye Farm Antiques Club, Wapakoneta; life member of the Tri-State Gas Engine & Tractor Association, Portland, Ind.; member of the International Cockshutt Farm Equipment Club; a former member of the Eagles & Elks in Wilmington; and a former Clarksville Mason & Scottish Rite member. He retired from GM-Moraine after 32 years of service. He then sold new and used farm equipment in the Mt. Orab area for over seven years.
Surviving are his wife, Lona Marie Holbrook, whom he married June 3, 2015 in Maysville, Ky.; son, John Robert Holbrook of Peebles; brothers, Paul Holbrook of Blanchester, James (Elaine) Holbrook of Breathitt County, Ky. and Carl J. (Mary) Holbrook of Breathitt County, Ky.; sister, Brenda Powers of Breathitt County, Ky.; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Pat (Becky) Malinowski.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sisters, Flora Day and Etta Mae Holbrook.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 22, 2024 at noon at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, 97 West Locust Street at North Mulberry Street, Wilmington with nephew Eric Holbrook officiating. Interment will follow in the Clarksville Cemetery, Clarksville, Ohio. Honorary pallbearer will be Pat Malinowski. Active pallbearers will be Eric Holbrook, John Neeley, Jeff Campbell, Robbie McMullen, Oscar Guerrer, Kurt Day and Paul L. Holbrook.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the time of services at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington.
