John Frederick Piatt, 70, of Greenfield, died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009 at his residence. He was born Sept. 1, 1939 in Monroe County, Ohio, the son of the late James M. Piatt. He is survived by his wife, Susie L. (Howell) Piatt, whom he married Oct. 31, 1989. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a lifelong friend, Wayne "Shorty" Moore. He was a member of the Merrill Ridge Church of Christ in Monroe County and the U.S. Army Reserves. Services will be held Saturday, Sept. 5, at 1 p.m. at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Pastor Danny Dodds officiating. Burial will be held at the Greenfield Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4.[[In-content Ad]]
