Jo Ann Van Saun

Jo Ann Van Saun, 91, of Fayetteville, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at the Sunrise Assisted Living in Dublin.

She was born July 21, 1931 in Cincinnati, the daughter of the late Fredrick W. and Edna (Pierce) Ferris.

Jo Ann most enjoyed her travels with her late husband, Charles, traveling the United States in their RV. She supported Charles on their farm in Brown County since 1962, and they spent many days at their hobby building furniture from the wood harvested from their farmland.

She created many craft items, and she leaves her family with lovely, framed projects to enjoy. She participated in the Highland County Homemakers Club, and she volunteered at the Cincinnati Zoo Educational Center. She also enjoyed going to the Highland County Senior Citizens Center, working on crafts and playing cards.

Jo Ann is survived by her two daughters, Karen Van Saun and Marcia Van Saun Lehar; two grandchildren, Alexander Lehar and Danielle Lehar; a brother, Donald J. Ferris; and a nephew, Neal Van Saun.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles C. Van Saun, whom she married in 1955; and a niece, Barbara Van Saun.

Graveside services will be held Friday, June 2, 2023 at noon in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Cincinnati. The Davis-Turner Funeral Home is serving the family.
