Jerry Michael Fyffe, 65, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2024.

He was born Aug. 13, 1958 in Dayton, the son of Homer and Beulah Fyffe.

Jerry retired with 28 years working at General Motors. He was the longest running union representative for 26 years. He had a great reputation of “getting his job done.” He earned the nickname “Plow Boy.” His genuine personality created many long-lasting friendships. Jerry enjoyed serving the Lord whether he was covered in dirt and grease in his Carhartt’s or wearing his suit and tie. In July 2003, he was called by the Lord to serve as assistant pastor to Freedom Fellowship Church where later he served as Pastor until the day the Lord called him home. He loved his church family and often said he was proud to be their pastor. He lived and loved life with his family. His grandkids were his highlight. He ran rabbit dogs with them, and always gave rides in the combine during harvest. He loved camping and riding horses. He would always stop and pick flowers for Celesa while trail riding together.

Jerry married Celesa Marie (Howell) Fyffe on Nov. 12, 1994. Of a cherished marriage of 29 years, they have three children, Wyatt (Caileigh) Fyffe, Dallas (Kadence) Fyffe and SaLesa Fyffe; six grandchildren, Waylon Fyffe, Addi Mae Fyffe, Stetson Fyffe, Branson Fyffe, Easton Fyffe and Emmerson Fyffe. Also surviving are four sisters, Juanita (Rick) Robinson, Aledda (Herb) Hoskins, Sharon (Okle) Austin and Glenda (Rick) Cornett; aunts; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Homer Fyffe; his mother, Beulah (Stevens) Fyffe; a nephew, Okle Austin; and many uncles and aunts.

Visitation and services will be held at Freedom Fellowship Church, 7451 Pea Ridge Road, Hillsboro. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, Jan. 17 from 4-8 p.m. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 18 with Pastor Aaron Boggs officiating. Contributions may be made to Freedom Fellowship Church.
