Jared Owen 'Grumps' Ross
Jared Owen “Grumps” Ross, 42, of Williamsport, formerly of Greenfield, passed away Monday, June 24, 2024 as the result of a motorcycle accident.
He was born Nov. 28, 1981 in Washington C.H., the son of David and Karen (Garrison) Ross.
Jared was a 2000 graduate of Edward Lee McClain High School and 2002 graduate of Shawnee State, where he obtained his associate degree in business.
He was currently considered coach #1 with the Ohio Glory 10 U softball team and loved attending all of his kids’ sporting and school events. He was a member and past master of both Amanda #509 Masonic Lodge and Leesburg #78 Masonic Lodge. He attended the Heritage Nazarene Church in Circleville.
He enjoyed being outdoors, camping, cruises, family vacations, concerts and riding his motorcycle. He was a forklift operator at Walmart Distribution Center in Washington C.H. for over 20 years.
He is survived by his wife, Amy (Yingling) Ross, whom he married March 23, 2018; four children, Ashlynne (Levi) Smith of Stoutsville, Logan Wells of Pickerington, Maguire Ross of Greenfield and Grace Ross of Williamsport; two grandchildren, Colt and Saylor Smith; parents, David and Shawna Ross of Greenfield; one brother, Justin Ross of Davidson, N.C.; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; grandmother, Phyllis Ross of Washington C.H.; parents-in-law, Ralph “Bud’ and Edie Yingling III of Amanda; sister-in-law, Tracy Yingling of Amanda; brother-in-law, Shannon (Jennifer) Yingling of Amanda; and many close friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Karen Ross; and grandparents, Paul Ross and Owen and Grace Garrison.
Funeral service will be Friday, June 28 at 11 a.m. at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Pastor Bill Hines officiating. Burial will follow at Greenfield Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 27 from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home with Masonic service at 7 p.m., which is open to everyone, with visitation to continue afterward.
