Janice K. Dean

Janice K. Dean, 89, of Lynchburg, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at The Laurels of Hillsboro.

She was born Nov. 7, 1934 in Cincinnati, the daughter of the late John and Anna Catherine (Zillich) Kaminsky.

What Janice really enjoyed was sitting around the table with family or with friends simply talking and drinking coffee. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and shopping.

Janice is survived by her children, Julianne (Dennis Herdman) Crary of Lynchburg, Jane (Bob) Woodruff of Wilmington and John (Patty) Dean of Cincinnati; 11 grandchildren, Jason Dean, Jessica Dean, Jamie (Josh) White, Emily (Matt) Hall, Ian Niehaus, Jacob (Coni) Niehaus, Leah (Lee) Niehaus, Katie (Dominic) Colamonica, Nick (Christina) Tipis, Frank (Winter) Rosselot and Jeffrey (Aislinn) Rosselot; 36 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and sister, Ann Louise Winter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank E. Dean; daughter, Jenny Bowman; grandson, Joshua Niehaus; great-grandson, Garin Niehaus; and her brother, Bill Kaminsky.

A graveside service will take place July 5, 2024 at 1 p.m. at St. Martin Cemetery.

Memorial donations can be made in Janice’s honor to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, 501 Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105.
