Janet McClanahan, 89, of Spring Hill, Fla., formerly of Blanchester, passed away Thursday, Dec. 26, 2024 at Aspire at Spring Hill.

Janet was born Dec. 8, 1935, in Ludlow, Ky., the daughter of the late Rufus Leon Whitley and Cleo (Donnithorne) Whitley.

Janet was a beautician for over 30 years. She loved being a mother to her children, quilting and spending time with family and friends. She will be greatly missed.

Janet is survived by two children, Patrick McClanahan of Wrightsville and Kelly Pelfrey of Hernando Beach, Fla.; four grandchildren, Joseph (Amy) McClanahan, Brandy (Bill) Strain, Douglas (Paula) McClanahan and Dale (Erica) McClanahan; 10 great-grandchildren, Dylan, Collin, Emily, Aniston, Olivia, Nora, Harper, Lincoln, Braylon and Dryden; a great-great-granddaughter, Karter Nicole; and a brother, David Lee (Doris) Whitley of northern Kentucky.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Michael McClanahan and Brian McClanahan.
