Janet Mae Grover, 85, of Hillsboro, passed away peacefully Friday, March 1, 2024 at Miami Valley Hospital. 

She was the third child born to the late Ezra Cecil and Emma Mae (Douglas) Grover. Janet was born on Tuesday, Sept. 12, 1938 at home on a farm in Highland County near New Vienna. 

She was raised on a farm near Rocky Fork Lake. She graduated from Edward Lee McClain High School in 1956 and attended The Ohio State University. Janet proudly worked at many places through the years including, Pearce’s Restaurant in Greenfield, Rotary Forms Press in Hillsboro, Highland County Children Services, Salter Research and Friedman Marketing Research in Phoenix, Ariz., Glenn Animal Care Hospital in Glendale, Ariz., Super K-Mart Jewelry Department, and David Collins, CPA in Hillsboro. 

Janet is survived by her two children, Janette C. (Michael) Emery and Brian J. (Lori) Cassner; a grandson, William B. Cassner, CPA; father of her children, Jon H. Cassner; three brothers, David E. Grover, Larry C. (Elanna) Grover and Philip L. (Mary) Grover; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, L. Jean Grover Bauman. 

Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, March 8 at the Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene. Funeral services will follow visitation at 1 p.m. Friday, March 8 with Pastor Tom Zile officiating. Burial will follow services in the Marshall Cemetery. 

Memorials may be made to the Hillsboro Christian Academy Building Fund, 849 S. High Street, Hillsboro, Ohio 45133.
