James C. Scroggie

James C. Scroggie, 94, of Greenfield, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2024 at Boonespring Skilled Nursing Facility in Union, Ky.
 
He was born March 22, 1930 in Louisville, Ky., the son of James C. Scroggie, Sr. and Edna (West) Scroggie.
 
He was a 1948 graduate of Edward Lee McClain High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
 
He was a retired electrician, and prior to that, he taught at Greene Vocational School.  
 
He is survived by one daughter, Janet (Joe) Brammer of Seaman; one son, Jeff (Stephanie) Scroggie of Burlington, Ky.; four grandchildren, Katie, Emily (Jerrod), Eli and Ainsley; one great-granddaughter, Jayda; and many nieces and nephews.  
 
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ada Joan (Curry) Scroggie, on June 25, 2014; one stillborn daughter, Lisa Anne Scroggie; and both parents.
 
Funeral service will be Sunday, Aug. 18 at 6 p.m. at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield, beginning with a veterans appreciation service, then Pastor Danny Dodds to officiate, followed by military rites. Cremation will follow.
 
Visitation will be Sunday from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
