Irvin Milton Marshall

Irvin Milton Marshall, 86, of Wilmington, passed away Thursday, Feb. 20, 2025 at home surrounded by his loved ones.
 
He was born Nov. 29, 1938 in Burtonville, the son of the late Albert Milton and Lola Eve (Irwin) Marshall.

He was a member of First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, Wilmington, a life member of the Post 49 American Legion where he was a past Post Commander, Voiture DU 992, Wilmington 40/8 where he had served as Chef deGard; was a member of Wilmington VFW 6710, Wilmington Eagles 1224, was a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, had worked as a deputy sheriff in Clinton County for 10 years, was with the Auxiliary State Highway Patrol for 15 years, and had retired as a lineman from Dayton Power & Light after 41  years of service.  Irv was a Vietnam War era Air Force veteran.

Surviving are his wife, Sue Ann Marshall, whom he married Oct. 2, 1962; children, Tina LeAnn (Tim) Lones, Martin (Janice) Marshall, Lynn Renee Ashby; grandchildren, Jordan (Ciera) Parrish, Devan (Austin) Zuber, Ashley Sue Marshall, Mileigh Sue Marshall, Rasheena (Brian) Barnes, RaLicia Ochoa and Joshua Speelman; great-grandchildren, Daxton, Larkin, Brexlyn, Paris, Miguel, Ethan, Isabelle and Sarina; sister, Barbara June Howard; and many nieces and nephews.
 
In addition to his parents, Irv was preceded in death by two sisters, Diana Marshall and Carolee Kenney.

Services will be 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28 at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, 97 West Locust Street at North Mulberry Street, Wilmington with Deacon Bob Baker officiating. Interment will follow in the Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wilmington, where the Wilmington American Legion Post 49 will accord full military honors. Friends will be received from 1-3 p.m. Feb. 28 at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home.
