Irene J. Ferrin, 77, of Cambridge, formerly of Hillsboro, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family.  
 
She was born Sept.30, 1946 in Eastland, W.Va., the daughter of the late Woodrow Arden and Gladys Jane Crabtree Queen. 
 
Irene was a member of Hillsboro Freewill Baptist Church. She loved crafting, gardening, genealogy, and making special cards for the family.

On January 16, 1981 she was united into marriage to Thomas Ferrin, who survives. Also surviving are two children, Shannon L. (Ronald) Dornbusch of Hillsboro and Thomas Ferrin of Pensacola, Fla.; daughter-in-law, Melissa Ferrin; seven grandchildren, Josh (Kari) Ferrin, Cori Dornbusch, Charli Sheree Dornbusch (Jonathen Bussell), Jerrod Dornbusch, Brittany Ferrin, Joey (Shania) Dornbusch and Bruce Ferrin; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Josie (Doug) Nunn; and two brothers, Earl (Patty) Queen and Kirk Queen.
 
In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by three sons, Robbie Allen Ferrin, Randolph Leigh Ferrin and Kenneth Ferrin; and a brother, Otis Queen.

Services will be held at Hillsboro Freewill Baptist Church, 6360 U.S. 50, Hillsboro, at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 16 with the Rev. Jim Blankenship officiating. 
 
Friends will be received at the church on Tuesday from 11 a.m.-1p.m.

Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, Hillsboro has been entrusted with the arrangements.
