Howard H. Wallace
Howard H. Wallace, 89, passed away Jan. 28, 2025.
He was born Jan. 6, 1936, in Morehead, Ky., the son of William and Lyda (Bowman) Wallace.
Howard's journey through life was characterized by his unwavering dedication to his family, his career at General Motors, and his lifelong passion for raising and racing horses. Howard was a man of great integrity, whose work ethic set an example for those around him. He spent years at GM, where he was respected for his contributions and the camaraderie he built with colleagues. However, his true passion lay in the equestrian world; for over 40 years, he raised and raced horses, finding joy and fulfillment in every stride they took. He was a beloved father, grandfather and friend.
A devoted father, Howard leaves behind his son, Roger (Linda) Wallace of Columbus; a daughter, Sharon Gustin of Wilmington; and stepson, Tim (Maureen) Trefz of Florida; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and countless friends, who will remember him for his warmth, humor and the countless memories they shared together.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Janet (Fisher) Wallace; granddaughter, Michelle Lainhart; sister, Estella Sams; and two stepsons, Douglas and Gary Trefz.
Services will be 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6 at the Thompson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Resthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of services on Thursday at the Thompson Funeral Home.
