Gerald 'Jerry' Joseph St. Clair

Gerald “Jerry” Joseph St. Clair, 86, of Hillsboro, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2024 at the Legacy/ Heartland Nursing Center. 

He was born Sept. 19, 1937 in Cincinnati, the son of the late August and Lillian (Lacinak) St. Clair. 

Jerry was a graduate of Deer Park High School in Cincinnati. He was a baptized believer in Jesus Christ, and he worked hard to provide for his family. For many years he was self-employed as a home insulation installer and an electrician. He changed job careers and worked for General Electric from which he retired after 17 years of service. Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Air Force Reserves during the Cuban Missile Crisis. 

Jerry loved all animals, and he raised pigeons, all types of dogs and horses. He was an outdoorsman to the fullest, enjoying hunting and horseback riding. He was a member of the NRA, former member of the Greater Cincinnati Weimaraner Club and former member of the Highland County Coon Hunters Association. Jerry will be greatly missed. 

He is survived by seven children, David (Cindy) St. Clair of Hillsboro, Mark (Lisa) St. Clair of Sardinia, Julie St. Clair of Hillsboro, Lori St. Clair Wilkin of Hillsboro, Amy (Jeff Burnett) St. Clair of Hillsboro, Scott (Margaret) St. Clair of Cincinnati and Shane St. Clair of Batavia; 11 grandchildren, Christopher St. Clair, Benjamin (Ashley) St. Clair, Brittany (Matt) Cook, Arielle (Clay Carter) Lindsey, Bethany Turner, Dirk (Courtney) Maxwell, Wyatt Wilkin, Claire Wilkin, Duke St. Clair, Sadie St. Clair and Madison (Colin) St. Clair Davis; seven great-grandchildren, Addison, Emilynn, Brock, Zay`lee, Zeejay, Zeeondre and Harlow; three step-grandchildren, Amanda (Jason) Bledsoe, James (Jessica) Crowe and Paige Brandstetter; seven step-great-grandchildren, Bryce, Blaine, Austin, Aiden, Gabriella, Kellen and Kendi; and many nieces, nephews and friends. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn St. Clair, on Jan. 6, 1995; a great-grandson, Zander Gibson on Sept. 29, 2023; and three brothers, August St. Clair Jr., Robert St. Clair and Thomas St. Clair. 

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 21, 2024 from 5-8 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Funeral service will take place Friday, March 22, 2024 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial, with military honors presented by the Highland County Veteran Honor Guard, will follow services in the Sugar Tree Ridge Cemetery.
