Geneva Marie (Wilson) Roberson

Geneva Marie (Wilson) Roberson, 92, of Hillsboro, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2023 at the Salyer Adult Group Home.

She was born Feb. 18, 1931 in Sinking Spring, the daughter of the late David Valentine Wilson and Irene (Satterfield-King) Wilson.

Geneva enjoyed canning and preserving all types of foods, and she also enjoyed playing music on her electric organ and harmonica. Geneva and her late husband, Thomas, enjoyed traveling all over the U.S., especially out West visiting family and sightseeing, but what she loved the most was spending time with her family and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.

Geneva is survived by her three children, Thomas Allen (Mary) Roberson Jr. of Sierra Vista, Ariz., David Alvin Roberson of Sacramento, Calif. and Judith May Roberson Newman of Hillsboro; seven grandchildren, David Sutton, Jody Harsley, Bartmoss St. Claire, Matthew (Arielle) Roberson, Shawn (Sarah) Roberson, Jamie Lynn Franks and Shawna McFarland; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Violet Karnes of Hillsboro; a sister-in-law, Olga Roberson Conley of Hillsboro; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Allen Roberson, on Nov. 29, 2020; and four siblings, Manfred Wilson, Gladys Sonner, Marcella Sanders and Paul Wilson.  

Visitation will be held Saturday, Nov. 25, 2023 from 10-11 a.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Funeral services will take place following visitation on Saturday, Nov. 25 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow services in the Coss Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Central Ohio Chapter, 1379 Dublin Road, Columbus, Ohio 43215, Central Ohio Chapter (alz.org).
